Welcome to In Touch Massage Therapy, based in Crossgates, Fife, Scotland. We offer a wide range of specialised treatments tailored to your needs. Our services include TMJ Massage Therapy, for clients suffering from TMJ dysfunction. Which helps release the muscles within the body and the muscles of mastication, aiding in relieving jaw pain along with other symptoms of this dysfunction, such as clenching and grinding of the teeth, earaches or tinnitus, dizziness, nausea, and clicking or popping sensations when opening and closing the mouth.


We also provide Wood Therapy Body Contouring, a non-invasive treatment to eliminate localised fat and cellulite. Our Menopause Therapeutic Massage helps manage menopause symptoms, improving relaxation and overall well-being. Sports Massage and Deep Tissue Massage are available to alleviate muscle tension and improve flexibility. We also offer Swedish Massage, promoting relaxation. TMJ Massage Therapy

This treatment is a whole body approach to TMJ dysfunction. As the hips and jaw are connected, massage, myofascial release and trigger point therapy are applied to the back, shoulders, glutes and feet. Then finally, intra-oral massage is used to release the muscles of mastication (the chewing muscles).

Manual Lymphatic Drainage - Wood Therapy Body Contouring  

Wood therapy body contouring is a holistic technique that utilises vigorous and repetitive movements with anatomically sculpted wooden implements. It is used to firm and contour the body, as well as eliminate localised fat and fight cellulite. The specially designed wooden tools allow highly targeted pressure to be applied to "problem areas" while naturally eliminating excess body fat. Areas which can be treated with Wood Therapy are stomach, waist, legs, arms, buttocks, back, hips and thighs. This treatment is also very beneficial to alleviate water retention. All appointments begin with Manual Lymphatic Drainage. A minimum of 6 treatments are recommended for optimal results. Results become noticeable after around the third session, and continue to develop over time. The final results can be seen 12 weeks after the initial appointment. Appointments should be every 7-14 days for best results.

Menopause Therapeutic Massage

Menopause Massage is a holistic based therapy, based on specialised massage treatments to help people manage both their physical and emotional reactions to menopause. This treatment can help improve quality of life, help to improve relaxation, sleep and immune function as well as relieving anxiety, pain, fatigue and nausea. During the treatment, specific essential oils are used and certain pressure points shall be stimulated. As these can help relieve symptoms of menopause, such as hot flushes, recurring night sweats, abdominal bloating, joint pain and stiffness, insomnia, headaches, brain fog etc. Treatments are recommended every 1-2 weeks, for 4-6 weeks. Then once a month to maintain the benefits.

Sports Massage

Sports Massage is a treatment used to alleviate the stress and tension build up within the body’s tissues, and restore muscle balance. It is a deep, intense massage which speeds up the healing process in injured soft tissues. Sports Massage is used not only for injuries, but also prevention of injuries. You don’t have to be an athlete or have an injury to have a Sports Massage, the treatment can be beneficial to everyone, whether you're feeling your aches and pains due to sitting at a computer at work, or having pain and discomfort due to postural issues, the treatment is beneficial for a wide variety of problems. During the massage a combination of other techniques may also be used, involving resisted stretching, trigger point therapy, MET, PNF, and traction. The treatment will always be tailored to the clients specific needs.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a treatment where fine, single use pre-sterilised needles are inserted into trigger points within the muscles. Once the needles are inserted, they are then manipulated to activate a local twitch response, which is a brisk contraction of a taut band of skeletal muscle fibres elicited by needling of a trigger point in that band. This treatment can be beneficial for a number of conditions including rotator cuff injuries, tendinitis, bursitis, stenosis of the spine, fibromyalgia, and general aches and pains.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is a treatment where firm pressure is used to ease tension areas within the body, reducing pain and discomfort. Using some techniques similar to Swedish massage but in deeper form, this treatment helps alleviate chronic aches and pains from exercise or musculoskeletal issues. Deep Tissue massage offers both physical and psychological benefits, as it can provide a sense of relaxation, relieves tension and can help to reduce stress and anxiety.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is a therapeutic treatment, which has a calming and balancing effect on the nervous system, reducing emotional and physical stress. This treatment is used to improve circulation and soothe your muscles. Light pressure is used during a variety of classic massage techniques, the long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart help decrease the tension in the body’s tissues. This is typically a very relaxing treatment. It can also help relieve muscle tension and increase flexibility.

Increased blood circulation. Easing of muscle pain. Improves quality of sleep. Reduces both physical and emotional stress. Promotes the removal of waste and toxins. Alleviate pain and discomfort. Reduction of anxiety. Increases oxygen to the tissues.

Please note:

 

On initial appointments a consultation form must be completed in order to safely go ahead with the treatment. Therefore all first appointments must be 60 minutes, to allow time for consultation and assessment.

Deposit Policy 
At the time of booking your appointment you will be asked to make a £25 non refundable deposit, this will be deducted from the total cost of the massage which is to be paid on the day of treatment. No appointment will be secured until your deposit is received, and can be given away at any time.  

Appointment Cancellation  
Your appointments and well-being are very important to us. We understand that sometimes unexpected circumstances can occur. We run a 48 hour cancellation policy, all appointments cancelled before this time can be rescheduled with no charge. However if you would like to reschedule your appointment within the 48 hour period, you will have to pay a new £25 deposit, this is to cover costs and overheads of missed appointments.       

Turning up to Appointments 
If your more than 10 minutes late for your appointment, unfortunately your appointment will be cancelled and your deposit will be lost. Please understand I cannot run late for other clients due to lateness. Also any time lost due to lateness will be taken off appointment time.
